My Story

Hi, I’m Keila…the maker, dreamer, and heart behind The Low Key Co.

This journey started during a time when I was looking for something more meaningful in my life. I had been working as a medical coder, but deep down, I knew I wanted to create something with my hands, something that made people feel good. Candles had always been my escape; the way a simple flame and fragrance could change a whole mood fascinated me.

What started as a small hobby at my kitchen table quickly grew into a passion I couldn’t ignore and  I made the leap to leave my career behind and pour myself (literally!) into candles full time. It was scary, but it was also the best decision I’ve ever made.

At The Low Key Co., every candle is crafted with intention. I use coconut wax (my favorite for its creamy look and amazing scent throw), clean fragrances, and vessels I design and make myself from concrete…meaning no two candles are ever the same. Each one is unique, just like the people who burn them.

But Low Key isn’t just about candles, it’s about creating a vibe. It’s about slowing down, embracing simple joys, and making space for calm in the middle of busy days. From candles and diffusers to little pieces of home décor, everything is made to help you feel grounded and at peace.

And more than anything, Low Key is about connection. I love meeting people at markets, seeing how you style our candles in your homes, and even teaching other makers how to grow their own candle businesses. This brand is built on community, creativity, and a whole lot of heart.
